"What you mean is how you say it."
A first audiovisual appropriation exercise.
The Bolivian police made a live-stream during the covid-19 pandemic. The objective of this video was to intimidate the population not to leave their homes, showing the "consequences" for the offenders.
During the political and social crisis of 2019 in Bolivia, thanks to the immediacy of access to images, there has been a normalization of the consumption of images of violence on a large scale. The manipulation of the followers of different political discourses have used these same images available on the internet, they have modified them to systematically manipulate people to support their interests.
In this context, the film tries to show the images evidencing the violence, underlining it in the text, through the subtitling. There is nowhere to get lost: it is what is said, what is done while it is being said.
